"I'm glad they're here, then." For a lot of people this place is worse than back home. It's sad to hear that it's a marked improvement for others. (Elle honestly couldn't tell you if it was worse than where she comes from. She's trying not to think about it too much.)

It's a gentle tease, since Elle is much the same way. She's not as bad as her pack mates, though, so often times it's her doing the metaphorical (and sometimes literal) sitting.
