Someone should stop that boy

What: Tim is entirely too curious a creature. This can take many forms and lead to discussions.
Where: The Castle/The Brugh. Two set-ups are given, but you're free to provide something else.
When: Pre- or Post- Haunted House is fine. Just indicate.
Warnings/Notes: None.
Library
[ Tim is coming to accept that he has some sort of magical ability - he doesn't want to classify it as a metahuman ability, because it takes very specific shapes and effects. Always 3 batarang missiles. Always a wide dome of fog. No ability to sculpt them into anything else. It's precise and dependable, which he begrudgingly has to like, but it feels very limited in that regard.
So Tim is working his way through the library as best he can. He's skipping anything that looks like fiction, anthologies of flora and fauna, or religious automatically, and he's also avoiding narrow topics like a certain war or history of a city. It's slow going, picking the three or four books to go spend the evening with. Liner notes would be appreciated, but for now he's selectively editing by titles and tables of content to pick what he reads next. If anyone asks, he's looking for more information about the Green, its quest, and this castle... but sharp eyes would see that he's also perusing books look a little more ... interesting. That heavily gilded book that's pressed closest to his chest - that is definitely a spellbook. ]
Brugh
[ This is not the first time Tim's visited the throne room. He's tried to hide from people by exploring this fantasy-Tardis, he's trained in the strange spaces and learned different routes through it, found hidey-holes, and sometimes he's just motivated by curiosity.
But the throne room bothers him. The Elves. The mirrors and the forms they take there.
The children.
He keeps coming back to check to see if they've moved. He knows where the whole room stands, how close they are together, where the elves are in relation to the non-Elves.
They don't look like mannequins. They don't look like statues. They look real in a way that Tim hasn't tried to physically touch any of them yet. Touching the Elves would possibly be a terrible idea; touching the non-Elves ... sounds like a further violation. If they're real.
But he does wonder - what if he let loose whatever holds back the healing by one of them? Would it change anything? He knows where it would hit the fewest Elves.
It's dangerously close to an irresistible call of the void. ]

Jake fidgets with collar of his jacket as he holds the mirror with his other hand "Maybe it's because I'm new, or maybe not, because those gay pirate guys are already in there fucking it up, but whatever quest half the squad is doing, I didn't get the memo and I'm here, dying of boredom. Then some dude named Jonald told me there's a maze and who makes a maze without putting something worth a shitload of money in the middle? So I'm going. Anyone wanna come with me?"

What: Mio is defeated by the curse.
Where: Mio, Tommy, and Elle's room.
When: Shortly after memshare.
Warnings/Notes: Fatal Frame 2 and 3 related warnings aka death, survivor's guilt, curses, ghosts, referenced human sacrifice by odd religious cults.
There is something particularly upsetting about being forced in a space that makes you relive all your traumatic incidents. It makes Mio ask herself some uncomfortable questions: if she is meant to be tortured by these visions, to repent, even when is awake, what is the point of escaping the curse? The few days she'd spent on the Rig, she managed to avoid sleeping successfully, but of course she couldn't possibly resist forever. Hell, it was the teleporting magic that saved her from external threats!
She thought the nightmares stopped, only to be confronted with those flashbacks. Clearly there is no way of going around it. She had bribed one of the elves to get her some sort of potion, something that could allow her to need less rest. Looking at the bottle, she feels sick.
Going to the teen party alone without her sister, being faced with horrific situations and surviving when her sister died? Died by her hand, too. The maze, the odd inspections of suspicious places and people in hopes to find something deadly and then not finding them, it's not just her mind playing tricks, it's her destiny calling her back. Being 'the one with the weapon' has been a mere excuse to run away from it, and it's not fair. No, it's not fair.
So she gives the bottle back and keeps being on her own, finding a way to fall asleep in her room quietly while Elle and Tommy are out. There it is, the Manor of Sleep, reaching through her dreams. Has that memoryscape opened a portal? It's not clear, but it doesn't really matter.
The warped wood of the eaves creaks with every step she takes, lets her further and further in, Mayu's figure luring her past the snowy spirit tree in the garden, towards the Kuze Shrine. Only she can see the tattoo on her own body.
The handmaidens chant their ceremonial lullaby, one calls her to 'stay here forever'. While not happily, Mio is determined to go. Yes, this is how it's meant to be. Besides, she will get to be with Mayu again. This time, forever, just like she promised.
It's decided, then. She was so close, anyway, and now she's not tiptoeing around the finish line. Her dreams have taken over her, and whoever enters her room will only find a human shaped sooty mark. The Camera Obscura is there, but it's only a piece of junk to most people anyway.

[Kon is affecting some hardcore "this is no big deal" vibes. Like he's made a whole production of it really.]
[He's straight up chilling barefoot in a hammock because apparently the Elves have fancy versions of those. His foot is dangling over the edge so he can give the ground an occasional kick.]
[He really doesn't want to face Tim when he's annoyed, all because he's getting a bug up his butt over some old news.]

Elle walks into Dan's party, hangs around for a little bit, then walks back out. To say that it's not really her scene is an understatement. While she's doing her awkward wallflower act, she does notice a few of the other teens get escorted out of the area. Which gives her an idea...
Most of the adults are here and they've already taken care of getting booze... who's to stop her from throwing her own party?
