What: Mio is defeated by the curse.
Where: Mio, Tommy, and Elle's room.
When: Shortly after memshare.

There is something particularly upsetting about being forced in a space that makes you relive all your traumatic incidents. It makes Mio ask herself some uncomfortable questions: if she is meant to be tortured by these visions, to repent, even when is awake, what is the point of escaping the curse? The few days she'd spent on the Rig, she managed to avoid sleeping successfully, but of course she couldn't possibly resist forever. Hell, it was the teleporting magic that saved her from external threats!

She thought the nightmares stopped, only to be confronted with those flashbacks. Clearly there is no way of going around it. She had bribed one of the elves to get her some sort of potion, something that could allow her to need less rest. Looking at the bottle, she feels sick.

Going to the teen party alone without her sister, being faced with horrific situations and surviving when her sister died? Died by her hand, too. The maze, the odd inspections of suspicious places and people in hopes to find something deadly and then not finding them, it's not just her mind playing tricks, it's her destiny calling her back. Being 'the one with the weapon' has been a mere excuse to run away from it, and it's not fair. No, it's not fair.

So she gives the bottle back and keeps being on her own, finding a way to fall asleep in her room quietly while Elle and Tommy are out. There it is, the Manor of Sleep, reaching through her dreams. Has that memoryscape opened a portal? It's not clear, but it doesn't really matter.

The warped wood of the eaves creaks with every step she takes, lets her further and further in, Mayu's figure luring her past the snowy spirit tree in the garden, towards the Kuze Shrine. Only she can see the tattoo on her own body.

The handmaidens chant their ceremonial lullaby, one calls her to 'stay here forever'. While not happily, Mio is determined to go. Yes, this is how it's meant to be. Besides, she will get to be with Mayu again. This time, forever, just like she promised.

It's decided, then. She was so close, anyway, and now she's not tiptoeing around the finish line. Her dreams have taken over her, and whoever enters her room will only find a human shaped sooty mark. The Camera Obscura is there, but it's only a piece of junk to most people anyway.

What: Mio's refusing to GO TO SLEEP ALREADY

Mio might not have bonded with anyone just yet, but that doesn't mean she doesn't come with her own set of labels: she is the strong twin, the brave twin, and the responsible twin all in one package. A package that completely loses meaning in absence of her twin sister, especially since she herself murdered her but it's not like she can let go of these traits, for practical reasons.

Yes, there we go, there are practical reasons to stay awake, it's because she has the weapon to protect her teammates. Not everyone can use the Camera Obscura, some have been driven to madness by it. So she can't let that happen to anyone.

Also, the curse of the Sleeping Priestess had her fall into a coma before she was brought on the Rig - come to think about it, she didn't sleep for that couple of days either -, so she is technically afraid to sleep because if she falls into a coma again the functioning of rest of the team will be impaired, certainly not because she's afraid of ghosts punishing her for what she's done.

Why would she be afraid? She's 16, but she grew up fast, that makes her an adult and adults know better than to be scared.

"AAH!"

She instinctively grabs the Camera Obscura and shoots whatever it is that she heard moving...Which turns out to be Tommy.

"Oh, it's you." she puts the camera down, showing horrible dark circles under her eyes "You startled me."
