skinlotion: (ali; I wanna be an idle teen)

[Mona makes her own growl of frustration as the wolf stalks forward, instinctively taking a step backwards. Her thoughts are, as usual, running along the same line as Spencer's-- don't turn and run, back away slowly. And, of course, their relative likelihood of being dog chow.]

Coincidence or border patrol? [she asks resentfully, without taking a second step. What are the chances that they happen to come across a wolf while exploring, versus A strategically putting a guard dog (a very large, very undomesticated guard dog) on the one route out? If it was a guard dog, would they be able to scare it off, or would it be too well trained for that? If they back away, would they be corralled into A's trap? If they try to press their luck, will it pounce? She takes a second, reluctant step backwards, then digs her heels (literally) into the forest floor to see how the wolf reacts.]
