“I appreciate the apology,” Dan says quietly. He doesn’t appreciate it being brought up again, but he keeps that out of his tone as he keeps drinking, spilling a little out of the corner of his mouth because of the practical difficulties of swallowing something harsh while lying on his back. He pets Price’s head, a little affectionate gesture.
“You don’t got to worry. They didn’t get me none except knocking me down.” Lying comes to Dan as easy as breathing. He has many virtues; honestly hasn’t been one since his childhood. “I’m happy to be here. Something to do, excitement, adventure.”
