Like being the mechanic to fix a rocket when it's malfunctioned, being trusted with something delicate and valuable.

"It does sound exhausting." Dan constantly puts on faces for people. He understands that it's work, constant calculating, and he imagines it's all the more difficult when you don't have a natural attunement for the mood of the room that Dan does. What's Price hoping to gain by it? What changes does he make? What things is he paying attention to? Price seems to think that every interaction backfires because of some cosmic unfairness or the conspiracies of others with no thought as to how he tends to set out gunpowder and light the match.
