The battle is dying down.

Well, most people have run away by now, which means that it's less 'the battle has died down' and more that there is very little left for the creatures to fight.

Except for Elle, Stacia, and a handful of others who stayed to protect the ones retreating.

Elle sees Stacia looking over her shoulder and plants herself at Stacia's back, facing the opposite direction. She then turns around and motions for Stacia to run.

Elle will watch her back and cover her retreat.
