She's tensed for that, prepared to use the monster's momentum to drive the broken arrow deeper into its body than she'd be able to do under her own power. Instead, it moves in almost gently. Much too slow for Mona to get a good stab in, but large enough and insistent enough that she's not able to escape. She tries to scramble out of its arms anyway, jabbing with her elbows and kicking her feet.
