[And the sisters zip out of the fog, two at once, and Dan gives CT just enough time to aim her shot and fire before he urges Concrete Blonde into a full-tilt gallop, one hand tight around the reins and pommel, the other reached behind him and gripping CT's thigh to keep her firmly on a horse that is far from easy to hold onto without use of her arms. He hopes CT doesn't mind, but he figures she knows that propriety falls out the window when life or death are concerned.
The sister laughs all the harder at the arrow sticking out of her forearm, and divebombs the two of them with her katanas bared, seeking to knock them off the horse, and Dan makes the executive decision that it's better to abandon the horse and hit the ground of their own accord than being plowed off by the sister's blades.]
Brace-!
[He lets go of the pommel and throws his weight to the side - his feet already were out of the stirrups - trying to bring CT with him into a barrel roll off the horse. He rolls enough that he doesn't injure himself too badly, but he does knock the wind out of himself.
He'll find the horse later, if he can. The important thing right now was not to get impaled.]
